Katherine Cruse

I have lived in various parts of the United States, much of it in the mountains of Colorado. I began painting after moving to Dayton in 2005, taking classes at Rosewood Art Centre and Sinclair Community College. I am an active member of the Dayton Society of Artists. I work in oil and acrylic with palette knife and blades.

I am inspired by the vastness of the natural world, especially visions of sky and trees. I am constantly trying to capture the grandeur and the color of the landscape with images suggesting horizons and a sense of what lies beyond. My style is evolving to include more abstract work.
