Mary Baker Koch is a native of Dayton, Ohio. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Dayton, taught art for thirty years in the Kettering school system, and has been painting ever since. Locally, her oil paintings have been exhibited at Sinclair College, the University of Dayton, Rosewood Arts Center, the Miamisburg Art Guild, the High St. Gallery, K-12 Arts, Vessels Studio-Gallery, the ARTery, and the Dayton Visual Arts Center (now known as the Contemporary). In Florida she has exhibited in Boynton Beach, Delray Beach, and Ocean Ridge. In 2015 the City of Kettering purchased eight of her paintings for their permanent collection. She is a member of the Contemporary, the Dayton Society of Artists, and the Artery Gallery at Front Street. "I find my inspiration in nature and use the photographs I shoot as a starting point. My concentration is focused on the organic shapes I see and the joy is found in playing with the color!"
