Rosalie Campbell

Rosalie, a member of The ARTery, a Gallery at Front Street, has been weaving on a loom for almost 40 years. She mostly weaves scarves but also enjoys weaving placemats, table runners, wall hangings, clothing, pillows, afghans, and rugs. She has taken many weaving workshops locally and nationally and is a member of the Weavers Guild of Miami Valley and Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati.

Rosalie also creates Shibori dyed scarves and t-shirts.  Shibori is an ancient Japanese dye process of shaping cloth by pinching, pleating, stitching, wrapping and folding, and securing these shapes by knotting, binding and clamping.  Dye and/or bleaching agents are then applied to the textile while it is in these forms. She has taken Japanese Shibori dyeing and design workshops from local and nationally known artists.
