Rosalie Campbell


Rosalie, a member of Art Encounters, has been weaving on a floor loom for over 40 years. She mostly weaves scarves, but also enjoys weaving clothing, table runners, and placemats. Rosalie loves experimenting with different designs and color combinations. Rosalie has taken many weaving workshops locally and national and is a member of the Weavers Guild of Miami Valley, Weavers Guild of Greater Cincinnati and the Handweavers Guild of America. Rosalie also creates Shibori dyed silk scarves and t-shirts. Shibori is an ancient Japanese dye process of shaping cloth by pinching, pleating, stitching, wrapping and folding, and than securing these shapes by knotting, binding and clamping. Dye and/or bleaching agents are applied to the textile while in these forms. She has taken dyeing and design workshops from local and nationally known artists.
