A professional artist and educator, he divides his time between an active studio art practice here at Front Street, teaching at Wright State and the University of Dayton, and research on visual-spatial intelligence, the nexus between the representation of the human body in art and medical science, pathos formulae and the expression of emotion through the representation of the human form in dynamic movement, early modern period and baroque mimetic traditions, and the afterlife of classicism.
Jonathan has authored award-winning art education curriculum for New York University, Teacher's Network and the NYC Department of Education. His work is represented in a number of private collections and he has widely exhibited in a number of venues including The Pyramid Center for Contemporary Art in Haifa, Israel; The Kentler International Artists Space in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY; the 80 Washington Square East Gallery in Greenwich Village, Phillips, and Sotheby's NYC Auction Houses; the Byrdcliffe Woodstock Guild in Woodstock, New York; The National Arts Club, The Salmagundi Club, The New York Academy of Art; The Art Students League and Lincoln Center in NYC.
