Alchemic Configurations

Over a period of 35 years, David has developed what began as a hobby into a serious second career as a master jeweler/metalsmith artist. David’s engineering background lends a certain precision and inventiveness to his work, which has at the same time a studied looseness of style.

David has developed his metal skills by attending workshops with Internationally known metal artists, and by extensive self study and research. He exhibits in national level juried art shows with his wife, Sandra, and has won several Best in Show, and First Place awards. Sticks and Stones

Sticks and Stones is a dialectical audit of language as it relates to identity. Language can be harmful and healing. It creates a framework for us to understand each other but is often loaded with content from the projection of others. Assumptions, presumptions and ideals about who we are or who we might be based on tropes we learned and consumed creates the dissonance that leads to marginalization. “Sticks and Stones may break my bones but words will never hurt”. Over the course of my lived experience as much as I may have wanted to believe this, I have learned that it is not accurate. Words hurt. READ MORE

Somebody that I Used to Know

“An Artist wears his work in place of his wounds.” -Patti Smith

Returning to photography after a 30-year hiatus has been how I wear my wounds.  Not only do I see the world through the lens of my camera, but I have found myself again. My Art has always been about finding beauty in the overlooked or the declining city scape. My photographs range from industrial abstract to environmental portraiture. READ MORE

Chasing Urban Shadows

Chasing Urban Shadows, my latest body of work is a major departure from familiar subjects that I have worked with over the years and was a deep dive exploration of new subject matter. Between Realms

Photography has a special way to invite its viewers into the past; into worlds long gone, exposing the reality and the mystery between the “then” and the “now.”  Faded images, yellowed through the years, enhances the feeling of time and distance.  Photos of the motherland, great grandparents, long-gone babies, historic events, even past wonders-of-the-world take us into other worlds, where time travel is possible and the mystery of living and dying is revealed for just a moment, somewhere between realms.
