About Mongdog Collective

Cathy Mong spent more than three decades as a newspaper reporter and editor before pursuing a variety of creative ventures, from rehabilitating antique carousels to opening Dayton’s first brick-and-mortar vegan restaurant, Cafe 1610, with her daughter. Today, she creates whimsical pet portraits in oil pastels and acrylics while collecting and reselling unique pieces, including Native American jewelry. She runs vintage boutique Mongdog Collective alongside studio partner Ami Bement of Moon River Dayton Vintage.

About Moon River Dayton Vintage

Ami Bement has spent decades collecting and curating vintage furniture, art, décor, clothing, jewelry and housewares. A University of Cincinnati Interior Design graduate, her career has included internships in Boston and Los Angeles with Walt Disney Imagineering, as well as design work with Paramount Parks in Cincinnati. She runs Moon River Dayton Vintage alongside studio partner Cathy Mong of Mongdog Collective.

HOURS:

  • Mongdog Collective and Moon River Dayton Vintage are open during First Fridays from 5P-9P and on Saturdays from 11A-4P.
